" 4 Ways To Attack The Music Industry By Stratagem "

Photobucket

" The true aim is not so much to seek battle as to seek a strategic situation so advantageous that if it does not of itself produce the decision, its continuation by battle is sure to achieve this "- B. H. Liddell Hart

The first rule is to pay painstaking attention to the needs and wants of your fans and the ability of the artists on your label/team to fulfill those needs. Great strategy never reacts to the competitor; instead, strategy defines the opportunity in terms of the fans and then considers the situation in the competitive environment. Strategy in the music industry is not to be looked at as a competitive game. ( After all...this is art, right? ). " Do more, better, faster " is not strategy. Strategy focuses on adding real value to the fans. Strategy does not seek confrontation; instead, it seeks to achieve objectives with minimum combat.
  1. WIN WITHOUT FIGHTING- The concept of being victorious without engaging in conflict is fundamental. To apply this concept, it is necessary to seek victory before entering the competitive arena. This concept of winning before the battle applies to every situation. Strategy is a  planning process. It is war on paper. It is doing the right thing. It is seeking victory before the battle. Tactics is a contact process. It is the action of the war. It is doing things right., It is the battle.
  2. STRENGTH AGAINST WEAKNESS....ALWAYS
  3. BEWARE OF " HIGH-LEVEL DUMB "- No ONE person knows all the answers. Sometimes your manager just may not be right. We live in the Information Age. Make the search engines your best friend when it comes to researching for " how to dos "; trust me..you'll be rewarded. Traditional artist and managers have a tendency to resist new information because it might cause them to change their course of direction. ( Change is the essence of  life, and the industry is changing as you read this at light speed.)
  4. OBEY FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES- here are a few fundamental principles that must be obeyed in the music business at all cost:
Organize an Intelligence System: Know your market as well as you know yourself. Decision making must be data driven.
Maintain Objectives: Determine a clear direction and keep a steady aim. Do not wander down side tracks.
Establish a Secure Position: Strengthen your core knowledge and skills. Occupy a position that cannot easily be taken by your opponent.
Keep on the Offensive: Being on the offensive preserves artistic freedom of action and keeps you in control.
Plan Surprise: This is the best way to gain psychological dominance. Speed is an essential component of surprise.
Practice Economy of Force: When you concentrate in one area, you'll be weak in another.
Keep It Simple: The simple works best. Even the simplest plans can be difficult to execute.
Now....If you practiced patience and read to the end of this post ( trust me, if you think reading it took effort...imagine having to write it. But hey, someone has to do it, right?) , there's something else besides knowledge to be gained from it after all. Here's a treat. Just a small token of my appreciation: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_7363595

" 4 Strategic Rules Of Waging War In Today's Music Industry "

http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_7363595
You do not know how the enemy is disposed? Fight and find out. The decisive attack can only be confidently fixed after some fighting. The tentative attack is not a separate fight, but the beginning of the battle. Launch a formation against the whole front and you learn the shape.
Even with the right strategy the battle is only half won;the strategy succeeds only with professional execution of tactics. Problems arise when planning is separated from execution. This is like separating thinking from doing and it diffuses responsibility.
In today's music industry....the important thing is to get started. Many potentially great artist spend too much time in the " waiting for something to happen stage. " The artist who get that phone call, that one much needed connection, that big break that they've always dreamed of, shake themselves out of that waiting stage and make something happen. Wait, my friend, broke the wagon down! It is far more better to engage in some form of simultaneous planning and implementation. Tactical plans must be shaped in relation to reality  with the information learned form contact. The Master Bruce Lee said it best in relation to training: " Boards don't hit back. "
Here are 4 Strategic Rules Of Waging War In Today's Music Industry:
  1. Marshal Adequate Resources: In every battle, the one with the most resources has the odds in his favor. " The battle may not go to the strong, or the race to the swift, but that's the way to bet. " The problem of adequate resources is especially critical for artist/labels who are just starting out because they do not have the base of loyal customers, customers who've been converted as such from once being fans, friends, and family within their networks.
  2. Make Time Your Ally: ( The key is to become rapidly effective and efficient ) Building strength rapidly is, in itself, a clever advantage either because you take the opponent unaware or because the swift concentration of multiple elements creates the force of simultaneous action. So it is that the first one to the river usually crosses without difficulty. The speed with which a position is occupied is critical. Think in terms of  particular genres. Those who own a position early within a certain genre  may need to expend less resources representing it than those who come later and must try to break into that genre to have their name become well-knowingly attached to it. Example, back in the early 90's when people heard the term gangsta-rap....they immediately associated that with N.W.A. All gangsta-rappers after that had to work extremely hard to earn that tag. Here are a key few key issues in making time an ally:
  • As a rule, earliest is best. Time saved is time gained.
  • The later you start, the more you require.
  • The more urgent the need for a decision, the longer it takes.
  • Rapid decision making produces rapid execution.
  • Rapid action is simultaneous action.
  • Delayed decisions inevitably lose their positive quality.
  • All the positive consequences of speed accrue to the early offensive.
  • The less you delay: the less apt you are to be surprised, the less ready will be your competitor, the greater the probability your time of attack will be earlier than expected.
3.Everyone On Your Team Must Profit From Victories
4.Know Your Craft: In layman's terms- Stay in your lane. Stick to what you do best.!!

" Master The Art Of Timing "

As an independent artist in today's market, YOU ARE IN CONTROL. This is a simple fact that many of us minimize in the marketplace. The projects we choose to work on, and the timing we select to launch them are all up to us. We can't allow the actions of our competitors to dominate our every move. If we do, the competition has already won because they are controlling our agenda. Keep your competitors reacting to YOU.
http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_7993645

  • Where your competitor is weak, choose to strike there
  • When your competitor stumbles, move in
  • Where you have a temporary advantage, exploit it, and see if you can build long-term advantage from it
  • You can only do a few things well at any given moment in time
                                    " Nobody Understandz "
Childhood dreams,
And childhood friends done vanished,
Memories of ah nigga 14, being mannish.
And whoever would've wondered when it came to be
I wish I'd have learned the game before it came to me.
Ah young G growing up in adolescence,
We should have peeped the pain of the future in our presence.
But we were hardheaded and couldn't nobody tell me shit
12 o' clock, mama's probably raising hell and shit.
Out on the block with the click, now they're passing the smoke,
Mashing bitch's on the dick when they ask me to roll.
I'm reminiscing when I balled with the school and all,
Now I'm missing in the halls breaking rules and laws.
I know my dogs from the hood gonna buck with me,
But my true fools, they no longer fuck with me.
Choosing the life but you're right to keep your head in the books,
Lil' nigga 14, making bread with the crooks.
Out on the scene getting crunk, in a dope-fiend ride...
Loced-Out of the blunts got it smoky inside.
Who gives a fuck about the laws on our ass
We're juvenile bound, and taking falls for our cash.
We'll be out before the sun rise, laughing and dapping
Getting high, just another night of blasting and capping.
So who am I to tell a nigga under me to stop hanging,
And gang-banging? Get out the set that he's been claiming?....

Mama's crying cause she's stressing, but what is the use?
I'm getting high because Nobody Understandz the youth.
I'm trying to get blessings, but why are they hiding the truth?
Does anybody understand the youth?

The Undizputed Underground King Of Digital Hardcore Hip-Hop Has Arisen

Coincedence Or Conspiracy  ( Play song)
You know when I made the statement that Indie Funda is the new Facebook of music that I was dead serious? Cool thing about the Indie Funda community is that we're not just a bunch of artist tying to " force "  people to listen to our music. Far from that. Indie is a community. We value art in it's truest fashion...not just music. " Art for arts sake. " We're not individuals trying to become stars. When you become a part of the Indie Funda community you are already a star. Everyone's a star in the Indie community. This is the only community on the web where the " fans " are even stars.
( Here at Indie Funda the fans of Peta-Loc are promised to find exclusive tracks that cannot be found on any other site. )

" We Came, We Saw, We Smashed It "

Perform an experiment of focus and attention to media. Read the following words. The experiment states  a fact about an event that is about to happen in another moment in time. More precisely in the future....(Pause for a moment because I feel the need to clarify something right there: Listen, I am not a psychic. )
The world in the future will come across the same words presented to their attention-span in an audible format.  The experiment entails that you be able to recall and put together where you have read these exact same words that you are hearing? The words are as follows:
You sick of Peta'Loc the Great? You got hate in your state. Fuck showing love, I fucks up shit like the Cali quake. I bring pain, blow dro' so I can...maintain; with all these haters it's the only way that I remain sane. Stand staying on some gangsta shit, Laying with my gangsta bitch, praying she don't touch my grip. Bitch who you fucking with? You think cause you flipped three birds, that's it? Wrong nigga....To Peta'Loc a bitch can't quit.
Don't let your lil' mamas hear this. Best let your kids sleep. P-Loc'z no N-Sync...P-Loc's no BackStreet!
He's too raw, I stayed thugged-out, repping my set. The most gangsta, trill, thug-ass nigga to wreck. I keep your baby gal' shaking. My click bakes the cake then...hit I-10 with work. Forever paper-chasing. Don't just bob your head, nigga, feel me big homie, I'm deep I've been through shit boy...my click ain't phoney. I can't go weak, because everything I speak is stiff. Keeping it real is more important to me than being free. I want my grip. If you want me to squeal, keep your case. I'll do my bit and live good off of the weight in my safe. I'm a hustler's so real hustler's feel me. I ride deep like X and King because bitch niggas trying to kill me. So I pulls my K out and commenced to heart stopping. I'm going to have to bust a nigga's skull. I'm out of options.

" You Ever Felt Like This? "

I'm High
(I'm assuming you played the song??)
If you're already a fan and follower of my music then you're already familiar with the story of this song. If you're encountering this song for the first time , well, here's the story behind the song.
As I stated in the opening lines of the song, " Damn, I don't know whether to write a rap, or write a mutha fucking letter." So here I was, the time was approx. between 3a.m and 4a.m. The guards had already did there last count in the dorms so that meant that my Korean homie ( David Wee ) and I's official smoke session in the restrooms were over for this 24-hour period. He was across the hall in his dorm and I likewise, in mine. I'd pulled out my notebook to " originally " write my wife a letter. But something very strange happened as I began to jot down the first line, the letter took on the structure of a song ( in my mind ). The more and more I wrote, the more the contents of the song began to take on issues that I wanted to touch on in the letter anyway. So..instead of abandoning the thought of writing a letter for the idea of writing a song and vice-versa, I just allowed the words to flow and be whatever they choose to define themselves as in the end. Well...what manifested was a song-letter or a letter-song. ( For the lack of terminology to accurately describe such a manifestation.
Now...knowing what you" know " now....listen to the song again!!!!!

Granted....none of this was in any shape form or fashion " Premeditated ".

" NOMORE TEARS "

The Takeover Pt. 3
L-O-C...running this rap shit!!!
Let's take a look at the second verse.
  • Verse Two begins with, " I don't care if ya game wreck, I holds trigga'z to setz, Ya lil' fuck I got hundred stacks..big as ya checks. When I was pushing " D ", back in '93, you was in T.Y.C so...how you think you gon' be me? ( On the track that line says " you was in T.D.C." It's originally suppose to be T.Y.C. That stands for Texas Youth Commission which is like a prison for juvenile delinquents out here in Texas. T. D. C. actually stands for Texas Department of Corrections which is the state prison out here in Texas. )  " Right there I was talking to one of my lil' homies from my neighborhood who'd once rode with me on missions thugging the block and what not. And it was like, " dude, really? I'm ya big homie. Stop that. " The situation from my perspective was like," here I am on my 3rd strike, bidding and I hear that you're in the studio all of a sudden. Okay, cool...hold it down, I'm on my way home. Let's do this. "
  • But no, cats out here were playing with this music. They weren't sure if they wanted to rap or be soldiers in the hood getting money. So the  next report  I'd received concerning  dude- Little Devil , it was like, now the cat was out in the trenches trying to get money. Clogging up both lanes. I've always been of the " shit-or-get-off-the-pot" mentality when it came down to advancement. So that's where I was like .." then ya did state time, switched the percentages, well...that isn't equal.. get more representatives. " ( It's like, okay, now your dumb ass has screwed around out here in the streets so long that you've finally picked up a stint in the state pen. So now you think you got a little street cred?? Get more representatives:" Now I'm doing Fed time buddy...getcha street cred up. " And like I was saying,  at the time, I wasn't the studio-gangster. I was in the studio one day and right back to the cuts hustling the next. .." No, ya not on my level, getcha mind, right, I hustled what ya whole album bubbled...cause my grind tight. " Basically I was saying...dudes spent all this time in studio to drop their j0ints and I'm  making more  money on the grind than these dudes have made on their total album sells. ( That's an interesting observation that I set back these days & times and wonder do young dudes who believe in their gift and who possess  an unrelenting love for hip-hop, are they still faced with that scenario of  dudes who call themselves rappers making far less money on a day to day basis than the average D-boy in their hoods. - I believe that's what they're called these days- D-Boys??)
Now,  in the 3rd verse I'd moved along from the little homie because art, imitating life again,...the little pebbles weren't worth my time. ( What's interesting is..even though I was shooting at certain specific characters, the message was ironically touching everyone who'd existed whom were of that particular status around that time. ) Like in verse 3, I'm talking to MarbleHead, who's my cousin actually, the same cat who'd put the key in my back when we were younger to even turn me to rapping. Dude had  been like my shadow all throughout my first time exposures to the hood activity that went on  outside of the immediate household. With him and myself it was like, you name...we did it....TOGETHER!. I was looking at dude like, " you " ( out of all people )  finally have better numbers coming out of the door  than I have and you've been handed the golden opportunity to hold everything down until Peta.Loc get's back to the microphone and commands it. Noooo...what do you do??  START SMOKING CRACK- COCAINE? Are you serious?? You, Jemi?? Crack?
And like I've said the irony of it was,....even though I was talking to him specifically, the message totally addressed like 8 out of 10 dudes who were part of the set. The original set. Not  any of the " Families " that I'd eventually got adopted into on the streets. ( That's another whole story of it's own. Which will be touched on, believe me. ) I was talking about the actual set. 3-2 Hoover Crip Gang! It was  like, " Are you fucking kidding me?? You cats have gon' from soldiers with rank in the community to smoking " crack ?? "  Like this is the fucking late 80's and we are our uncle's and aunt's generation out here on these streets. It's like " Dummy. have you just totally forgot that WE ARE THE PRODUCTS OF THE CRACK GENERATION? " We are crack. That's the first lesson  we learned coming out of our mother's womb: NEVER SMOKE CRACK!!!!! ( The second lesson being how to sell it probably ).
The remainder of the song is self-explanatory after one gains a conception of the proceeding verses.
But yeah...all and all that's how the Takeover Pt. 3 should be listened to. Not in comparison to Hov'z  " Takeover ". The only thing that's ever to be rightly compared to that song is Nas' answer joint " Ether ". ( Also a hip-hop classic by the way. ) And I've been asked by a lot of the homies that are familiar with my position in hip-hop and with how the his-story of my life is entwined with the culture, " why didn't I redo Nas's  Ether joint and damage the stanza's?? " Well, for one...even though I can get inspired lyrically- when it comes to being prolific - by Nas, I don't identify with Nasty Nas like that. Not to the point where the identification would be consistent throughout my saga. I love Nas and the gift that he has blessed the rest of the hip-hop community with...the consistent proliferation. That's what makes Nas great. But  Peta.Loc doesn't identify with that line of consistency.  Just as they also ask me why not my big brother Tupac, why not do " Hit Em' Up "? (Fucking classic !!!) Well....on one hand you have the God M.C., and on the other you have Pac, who now only exist in the Ether.

Takeover Pt. 3 ( Extended video clips )

P. S.- Since I now have all of  my fellow comrades in a rather concentrated forum I'd like to take the time to point out something else about Peta.Loc . On all of the tracks that you've heard thus far, the sound engineering is to be attributed to Savoy S. at Icee Studios in Midland, Texas. Dude's mixing and mastering skills are marvelous. ( Maybe some day in the near future I can persuade him  make his presence manifest on the Indie Funda scene. ..Hint. Hint.)
Peace y'all..." It's ya boy...."

" The Takeover Pt. 3 ( Demystified )

As fans or friends ( or...fans and friends) of myself - " Peta'Loc " - already know,
Jay-Z is by far my first and foremost hugest musical influence when the time comes
for me to create my own music. However, there still exist  a huge misconception
whenever I'm heard quoting some of Jay's words in my own material.  So before I
go any further in my career, I think that it's only paying more homage to the God
M.C. when the misconceptions are cleared up in the beginning, right before the
deaf, dumb, and blind have the opportunity to translate honor into insult.
The song " Takeover Pt. 3 " was drafted out of King Hova's original cut called
" Takeover " that was released on the Blueprint album. As I've repeatedly said time \
and time again throughout my career; my identification with Jay-Z's rhymes can
be linked to direct experiences within my own life that draw out that relation. It
must be noted that at the time when  the Blueprint album dropped, I had the fortunate opportunity to enjoy it while I was simultaneously knee into the
dopegame, out of prison for the third time. While most people enjoyed the album in the comfort of their own choosing, I, ( due to being constantly on the move, trafficking
drugs up and down various interstates in The Great State Of Texas,) was compelled
to dissect every line of the album in my car's stereo while dropping off multiple
packages of narcotics....AND...dipping in and out of any and every studio that would
provide me with the opportunity to work on my own music.
After I'd been captured by the Federal Authorities and had an overabundance
of time to hone my skills, that one song in particular - Takeover - is one that I just
couldn't get out of my head at anytime I'd start to compose a new joint.
So instead of fighting to subdue the space that the song had literally taken over in
my brain, I chose to re-create the song in such a way that the song related to my life's
story...Takeover Pt.3 ( hit Takever Pt. 3  to PLAY SONG )

" Ain't No Justice....It's Just-Ice " ( Independence Day For Casey Anthony )

As an American-black, an ex-offender who practically has grew up and was raised by the American Judicial System....I used to live by the axiom of  " Ain't No Justice...It's Just-Us ". But after watching the Casey Anthony trial...I now have to live by the axiom of " Ain't No Justice...It's Just-Ice. "
32-degrees below zero. The system is Ice Cold. Casey just walked on an over-all charge of murdering her baby daughter. Cold Blooded murder!!!
I'm at this position based on what I've witnessed through EXPERIENCE. A lot of people have set in their living rooms, in the comfort of their homes and watched cases be tried in courtrooms....broadcasted through the media. As a result, a lot of pictures of the person being tried for a crime become tainted by the hype surrounding the trial. I've personally set in courtrooms hand-cuffed to the person being tried for a crime. I've shared cells and dorm-rooms with people being tried for a crime. I've read the actual documents of those same people. Seen the evidence that the court had on these people in black and white with my own eyes. And the evidence that I've witnessed did not warrant a guilty conviction. And at the end of the day, I've also witnessed these same people GET THEIR ENTIRE LIVES THROWN AWAY BY THE SYSTEM even though all of the evidence clearly pointed out that this person was NOT GUILTY- BASED ON THE FACTS!!! And to add insult to injury, these same cases were not granted any action whatsoever at a chance of appealing the cases.
I've never in my life witnessed what I've just witnessed happen in the case of Casey Anthony. I am an ex-offender, a hardcore rap artist, and when the verdict of  " NOT GUILTY " came back for Casey Anthony, tears flooded my eyes.
Now, I'm not saying that I don't believe that she murdered her daughter. I don't know if she did or didn't. If I did...then I'm absolutely certain that I would've been on the witness stand, as the rest of us who have our opinions about whether or not she did it would have been on the witness stand. What I am saying is that this is the first time that I've actually witnessed ( me..personally...throughout all my experiences with the court system ) a case be tried and concluded with a verdict based on nothing other than the FACTS AND EVIDENCE that the court had presented in front of them.
The verdict: NOT GUILTY....." Beyond a Reasonable Doubt "????

P.S.- As an after-thought I must also add. I do not agree with the end verdict in the case of the R&B singer R-Kelly. Ain't no justice...It's Just-Ice. The system is ice cold. 32 degrees below zero.

" The Loced-Out Attitudez: 1-2 "

Greetingz.
In the blog post that I'd submitted here- http://indiefunda.com/2011/06/the-loced-out-attitude/ I'd given a brief description of what exactly iz defined by the " independent culture " of having the Loced-Out Attitude. Refreshingly, the Loced-Out Attitude iz characteristic of having these 5 traitz:
  1. The world iz full of fascinating problemz waiting to be solved
  2. No problem should ever have to be solved twice
  3. Boredom and drudgery are evil
  4. Freedom iz good
  5. Attitude iz no substitute for competence

Now here go more in depth with an ezplanation of the first two traitz....
  • The world iz full of fascinating problemz waiting to be solved- Understand: Being a Loc isn't eazy at all, but it'z fun. However, it'z a kind of fun that takez a lot of effort, mainly, because az I've mentioned before, Locz are Independent!! ( the term Loc and the term Independent az it'z been previously defined on thiz site are interchangable termz.) The effort in itself alone takez motivation. Just az successful athletes get their motivation from a kind of physical delight in making their bodies perform, in pushing themselves past their own physical limits. Similarly, to be a Loc you have to get a basic thrill from solving problems, sharpening your skillz, and exercising your intelligence. ( Locz are creative thinkerz by nature. ) If you aren't the kind of person that feelz thiz way naturally you'll need to become one in order to make it az an independent. Otherwise you'll find your Loced-Out energy iz sapped by distractionz like sex/porn, the allure of obtaining fast cash, and social approval/social-networking approval on time jacking social-networking sitez, i.e. Facebook ...when you could and should be studying and acquiring the necessary skillz and connectionz to BUILD YOUR OWN FACEBOOK!!
  • No problem should ever have to be solved twice- Creative brainz are a valuable, limited resource. They shouldn't be wasted on re-inventing Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter when there are so many fascinating new problemz (like building better platformz and communitiez ) waiting out there. To behave like a Loc, you have to believe that the thinking time of other independentz iz preciouz-so much so that it'z almost a moral duty for you to share information, solve problemsz and then give the solutionz away justs so other Locz can solve " new " problemz instead of having to perpetually re-addrezz old onez. Note, however, that " no problem should ever have to be solved twice. " doez not imply that you have to consider all existing solutionz sacred, or that there iz only one right solution to any given problem. Often, we learn a lot about the problem that we didn't know before by studying the first cut at a solution. It'z OK, and often necessary, to decide that we can do better. What's not OK iz " hoarding knowledge ", which preventz a good solution from being re-used and " forces " people to re-invent wheelz. ( You don't have to believe that you're obligated to give all of your ideaz, connectz, and productz away, though the independentz that do are the onez that get most respect from other Locz and independentz. It'z consistent with the valuez of an independent to sell enough of it to keep you in living expenses and with the toolz to continue to create and expound on new ideaz. It'z fine to use your skillz az an independent to support a family or even to get rich , az long az you don't forget your loyalty to your art and your culture of fellow independents and Locz while doing it.)
Much love and respect to ESR. For those who've yet to figure out ESR....." RTFM "

" Independece: Another Word For Nothing Else To Lose "

From thiz point  forward, when I use the term " independent artist ", that term is used to describe the creative and productive expression available to all of the those who possess the code. This expression could aptly be called " the genius " or be expressed in the frame of other creative/productive endeavors where those who possess the code become brilliant.
Independence teaches us that whatever our philosophy of the universe may be, ultimately the responsibility for the kind of world in which we live rests with each and every one of us.

( Law 3: Independence: Another word for nothing else to lose. { Law 3, written and constructed by the group called The Loced-OutLawz. More info about this group can be found @ http://www.indiefunda.com )

" The Devil'z Greatest Deception "

hacker emblem

If I had 10, and you had 5, and we approached the situation from a " basic " mathematical point of view it is clear who has more between the 2 of us. But a lot of artist have more reliance on a certain part of their brain then, say, a lot of scientist and mathematicians do. Left-brains skills. Right-brain skills. If 2 people were asked to choose between a nickel and a dime, and the person that chose the nickel over the dime did so because the nickel was larger in size than the dime, it would be apparent that money was not the primary motivating factor in that person's decision making process at that time.
Now, remember when I said earlier that if I had 10 and that if you had 5, that I'd be the one who'd have more? Well....that's the hook-line-sinker mentality right there. ( Those who have eye'z to see, let them see ).
So, now , given all that's been stated...if I were to tell you that 10=Devil and 5=God...which number would you choose?

" How To Become An Independent "

There is a community, a shared culture, of expert programmers and networking musicians that traces its history back through decades. The members of this culture originated the term " independent ". The independents built the music industry on the internet. The independents made the way a search engine chases down money what it is today. The independents " run " the internet. The independents make the music industry in the World Wide Web work. If you are part of this culture, if you have contributed to it and other people in it know who you are and call you an independent, you're an independent.
Granted, there's also another group of people who loudly call themselves independents, but aren't. These are the people who infiltrate our networks and get a kick out of hacking our systems in hopes to copy our ideas, and when they realize that they can't figure out how and why our codes are working, they use their money and political influences to establish laws in attempts to control it. Real independents call these people mainstream capitalist and want nothing to do with them. Real independents mostly think these people are snakes, lazy, irresponsible, " not very bright ", and object that being able to sell a million albums for .99 cent (in the digital format) doesn't make you an independent artist any more than setting up a web page to promote the album doesn't make you a Napster. Unfortunately, a lot of people who were in their teens when iTunes first hit the scene have been fooled into thinking that the artist who are "mainstream" today, are the ones who make the music industry on the internet what it is today.
The basic difference is this: Independents build things.....mainstream society/media destroys them!!!!!
If you want to be an independent, keep following independents. Here's a nice place to start for beginners who have put serious thought into their careers as artist, and what role the internet is to play in their advancement as artist in the next decade- http://www.indiefunda.com

" Everybody Iz Expendable "

Thiz law states that thiz iz war. Period. That " thiz iz war ", cannot be strezzed enough. If you do not understand military science, then thiz iz not the industy that you need to be in. Thiz iz every war that has ever existed in the history of mankind...and YOU are likewise, every soldier who has ever fought in it. Your knowledge and the execution of your knowledge determinez your existence or your non-existence. This law iz not to be disobeyed at any cost. There are no exceptionz to thiz rule. Disobey thiz rule to your own demise. You must think with a military mind at all timez. You must live in the mind of John Rambo when he stated, " there are no innocent civilians."
It'z you against your opponent. One person uses hiz tacticz out of fear. The other person uses tacticz out of courage.
What you think about creates what manifest in your life.....http://www.indiefunda.com

Murphey's Law: If it can happen, then it will happen. And somehow, someway, it has happened. There's really not any use trying to make an understanding out of the recent events that have transpired in my life within the last 72 hours. I mean, honestly, when you've given all that you can give into making a dream become a reality and it only serves to manifest as another nightmare, what's left to do but " light a match....blow the joint." All behind a drunk groupie named Arrikka Cassler running off her mouth in a drunkened stupor in the chat window on Facebook.
Well...you know what? Yall get the post. It's Chinese laundry coming from my side every time I open my mouth. And if there's ever a time that Peta'loc the artist hasn't spoken the truth...de-friend me, un-fan me, ban me...crucify me..Please. The same thing happened to Jesus. And look at him now....he's worshipped.
Understand This: It's not about the fame or the riches. I was writing songs and rapping long before I knew that I could get paid for doing it. Music is an expression of my inner-soul. All the attachments are what mankind placed onto it. All the people who I once rapped for to get them out of their hard-aches and hard-ships are dead and gone. I'm the last one left. Alone.....it's just me and against the world now. Living out my artistic life " Thug style...so I can't smile ".
Damnit feels good to be the Locsta.......

The War Report

"The best policy in war is to attack the enemy's strategy. The second best way is to disrupt his alliances through diplomatic means. The next best method is to attack his army in the field...."
By now we are all aware that we az independent artist and you az fanz of independent artist are at war. I, Mr. Peta'Loc, the " undizputed king of underground digital hardcore hip-hip music " A.K.A.- The General...am here today to bring to you THE WAR REPORT.
I ask of you az comradez, alliez, fanz, and supporterz of our troopz over at THE INDIE FUNDA PROJECT to http://www.indiefunda.blogspot.com please not be dizcouraged by my seemingly " leave of absence " . I assure you. I have not abandoned you. My position at thiz time can be found " in the trench'z " . However, there are an astronomical amount of high ranking officialz who are stationed in variouz bases throughout our cyber-planet in which you may easily get in contact with me via those officialz if..and only " if " ...you are familiar with the code.
Thank you,
Mr. Peta'Loc

" Generally, in war the best thing of all is to take the enemy's state whole and intact; to ruin it is inferior to this. To capture the enemy's entire army is better than to destroy it; to take intact a whole platform , a company of one-million a- day viewed site, is better than to destroy them. Hence, to win one hundred page views in battle is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the supreme excellence."
